Repeated phrases are often the bigger tell: "in order to" three times, or the same sentence opener again and again. The phrase list below the word list catches those.

Frequently asked questions
Why aren’t words like "the" and "and" listed?
Function words repeat naturally in all writing and aren’t style problems. The tool filters ~80 common English stop words so the list surfaces only meaningful repetition.
What counts as a repeated phrase?
Any 2- or 3-word sequence appearing at least twice, excluding sequences made entirely of common words. Phrases are matched case-insensitively.
How much repetition is too much?
A useful rule: a distinctive word (anything vivid or unusual) shouldn’t appear twice within a paragraph, and workhorse verbs/nouns shouldn’t exceed roughly 1% of total words. The keyword density checker shows percentages.
