A character counter tells you exactly how long your text is, character by character. That matters because most platform limits — X’s 280 characters, SMS’s 160, Google’s ~60-character titles — count every character including spaces, punctuation, and emoji.
This tool counts as you type, so you can trim your text to fit a limit without guessing. The "characters (no spaces)" figure is useful for translation quotes and typesetting estimates, which often exclude whitespace.
